On Saturday 04 April 2020, the HPSF served as a venue for the consultation meeting between the Urban Transport Unions and the Members of the Government, namely MINCOMMERCE, MINTRANSPORT and MINTSS.

The purpose of the discussions was to suspend the strike action planned by the Transport Unions and to seek ways of implementing measures to fight against the spread of the coronas virus.

During this meeting, both parties demonstrated responsibility and patriotism while agreeing to work together in the fight against the spread of COVID-19. It was also worth noting that Public Transportation remains the means that most exposes the population to the infection.

The President of the Trade Unions and Urban Transport Operators, Collins DEFOSSOKENG, expressed the grievances of his collaborators to the Members of the Government.

At the end of the meeting, both parties agreed on these two points;

  1. The re-examination of their complaints on Monday, April 6th, 2020 from 3 p.m. during a meeting which will be chaired by Mr. Ernest MASSENA NGALLE BIBEHE at the Ministry of Transport.
  2. The decision to postpone the strike action in order to preserve peace throughout the nation in these difficult times.
