Buffer negative effects of high international prices
The HPSF main role is the regulation of petroleum products prices by assuring the regular supply of peroleum products across the national territory. This is intended to encourage proximity consumption through harmonization of prices between depots.
In addition, significant support is given to the prices of petroleum products largely consumed by the general public such as: kerosene and domestic gas protected by Government.
The importance of taxation generates large disparities in wealth, which are accentuated by significant differences in charges, hence the establishment of a determinant to balance the environment. This determinant is equalization, a tool for measuring and correcting inequalities.
